The part of the plant that can be used for medicinal purposes is the rhizome, which can be harvested in autumn every year. When harvesting, the whole plant needs to be dug out, the rhizome taken out, the soil rinsed off, and then dried naturally. After it is completely dry, it can be stored for later use.

It has a good effect on dispersing blood stasis, stopping bleeding, clearing away heat and detoxifying. It is mainly used to treat diseases such as bloody stool, metrorrhagia, leucorrhea, dysentery, enteritis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, etc. It can also be used externally to treat symptoms such as traumatic bleeding, carbuncles, swellings, and injuries from falls.

For internal use, you only need to take 2 to 5 qian of Polygonum villosa and boil it in water to drink. For external use, take an appropriate amount and mash it into powder and apply it directly to the affected area. It can also be used in combination with other medicinal materials. However, if you are not very clear about the properties of the medicine, it is recommended that you study it clearly before using it. Only correct preparation can achieve its maximum effect and avoid other adverse reactions.
