1. Treatment methods

Fresh osmanthus flowers must be processed immediately after being collected and should not be kept for too long, otherwise the fragrance will be lost and the color will change. When processing, first place it in a washing basket to filter out the magazines and pick out the larger impurities. Then soak it in light salt water for more than 10 minutes and rinse it with a shower. This will not damage the osmanthus and will also wash it very clean. After washing, control the water and blow dry with a hair dryer. Note that it cannot be sun-dried or air-dried.

2. Storage Method

1. Freezing: Put the processed osmanthus into a clean plastic bag, tie the mouth tightly and put it in the freezer. It is relatively fresh no matter when you take it out or when you use it. However, the taste of the food preserved in this way will be better after being cooked.

2. Make dried osmanthus: Dry the processed osmanthus in a microwave or oven, or use quicklime to absorb its moisture, and then store it in a plastic bag. It is recommended to use quicklime for drying so that the aroma and color will not change.

3. Make osmanthus jam: You can also make osmanthus jam, which is more convenient to use and can be stored for a long time. When making it, first put a layer of osmanthus at the bottom of the container, then add a layer of honey, repeat this step until it is full and seal it.
