What to do if the Aspidistra doesn't grow new leaves

What to do if the Aspidistra doesn't grow new leaves

1. Temperature

This is a plant that originally grew in the southernmost part of our country, which determines that it can tolerate higher temperatures. In fact, it likes warm conditions and grows best within the range of 10 to 25 degrees. It can grow at a temperature of 30 degrees, but not at any higher temperature. The minimum temperature should not exceed 3 degrees. If your plant has not grown leaves, you should consider whether you have placed it in a place with inappropriate temperature.

2. Lighting

It is a plant that can grow in an environment lacking light without becoming withered, which allows it to be grown well indoors. Generally, it is enough for us to give it some light occasionally. But if you put it in a dark place for too long, it won't work. After all, the growth of plants cannot be separated from sunlight. If there is a long-term lack of light, the germination and growth of new buds will be affected, and new leaves will not be able to grow.

3. Soil

It is not much different from ordinary flowers and plants and likes loose, breathable soil. Maybe the soil in your pot is too hard, or the soil is too thick, so the plant cannot breathe well and its growth becomes slow. You can loosen the soil, but the soil must not be added too thickly.

4. Flower Pots

Maybe you chose a small flowerpot to plant the plant in from the beginning. A small flowerpot means less space for the plant to grow. The growth of the plant is hindered, so it naturally grows slowly or even stops growing.

5. Pruning

If your plant has no leaves, check to see if its other leaves have turned yellow and some of its branches have dried up. At this time, we need to cut off the dead branches and yellow leaves. This will help new shoots and leaves grow.
