How to grow tulips

How to grow tulips

Planting method

Soil Preparation

Tulips prefer sandy soil that is highly permeable and rich in humus. When planting tulips in the garden, choose a place with higher terrain and better drainage.

After selecting the soil, process it, dry it if it is too wet, add an appropriate amount of decomposed fertilizer, then water it with formalin and cover it with plastic film for disinfection.

Remove the plastic film one day before planting and prepare for planting.

Bulb disinfection

In order to ensure the normal growth of the plants and prevent diseases and insect pests, the bulbs should be disinfected by soaking them with 1000 times thiophanate solution and mite removal solution. However, when disinfecting, please pay attention to the following:

The diluted disinfectant can only be used for half a day at most and cannot be used with the previous one.

The bulbs should be completely immersed in the disinfectant. Soak for 20 minutes and take out. The time should not be too long.

The sterilized bulbs should be dried in a cool place before planting.

Plant the bulbs immediately after disinfection and drying, do not wait until the next day.

Bulb planting

Tulips in my country are mostly used in the landscape layout of gardens and courtyards, and the bulbs are planted directly. If the conditions are suitable after planting, roots will grow in half a month.

Management methods

Watering

After planting, water appropriately according to the dryness and wetness of the soil. Do not accumulate water. Keeping the soil relatively moist is conducive to rooting.

Fertilization, pest control

In February of the following year, the temperature will rise and the top buds will emerge from the ground. At this time, spray with 800 times thiophanate solution to prevent the occurrence of diseases, and add compound fertilizer once.

When the leaves gradually unfold but before flowering, spray again with 800 times thiophanate solution and apply appropriate fertilizer according to the growth of the plant.
