Forget-me-not breeding methods and precautions

How to grow forget-me-not

Forget-me-not likes dry, fertile, well-breathed, slightly alkaline sandy loam. Therefore, when planting, you can evenly mix the decomposed organic fertilizer and slow-release compound fertilizer into the soil. The distance between each forget-me-not plant is 3 to 4 cm, and the planting depth should be such that the substrate is slightly higher than the root neck. After planting, control the temperature below 15 ℃ for 2 months to ensure that the plant passes the vernalization stage, which is conducive to the normal flowering of forget-me-not.

Light requirements for forget-me-not

Forget-me-nots like plenty of sunlight, but the ambient temperature cannot be too high or humid, so forget-me-nots should be given enough sunlight during normal maintenance. Insufficient light will cause the forget-me-nots to have lush leaves and affect flowering. But in summer, try to provide shade to avoid excessive exposure to the sun.

Temperature requirements for forget-me-not

The suitable temperature for the growth of forget-me-not is 22-28 ℃. When the temperature is higher than 30 ℃ or lower than 5 ℃, the growth of forget-me-not will be hindered. Therefore, when planting forget-me-nots, try to carry out low-temperature treatment first to allow it to fully accept the low temperature and complete vernalization. After normal growth, try to control the temperature within an appropriate range.

How to water forget-me-nots

The forget-me-nots that we usually see are cut flowers, which look dry, so some people think that the growing environment of forget-me-nots is also dry, but you are wrong. Forget-me-nots like water, but are afraid of waterlogging. During the maintenance period, keep the soil of the forget-me-not slightly moist, but do not allow water to accumulate at the roots. When there is sufficient sunlight, you can water it more appropriately to increase the air humidity. During the non-growing season, the soil in the pot can be kept slightly moist and dry.

Fertilization method of forget-me-not

When planting forget-me-nots, apply enough base fertilizer and mix the fertilizer evenly into the soil. When the forget-me-not has 6 to 8 leaves, add urea solution once. When the forget-me-not has flower stalks, apply 0.1 % potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution 2-3 times.
