Common varieties of fuchsia

Fuchsia grandiflora

The tube of the plant is deep red, and the flowers are purple, red or white. There are many horticultural varieties.

Short-tube fuchsia

The calyx is crimson and the petals are purple.

Fuchsia leucophylla

For cultivating hybrids. The calyx tube is white, long, with recurved lobes and red petals.

Long-tube fuchsia

The plant is 1 to 2 meters tall, sparsely covered with soft hairs, and has tuberous stems at the bottom. The branches are slightly juicy and reddish, with long leaves, 10 to 20 cm long and 5 to 12 cm wide. The calyx tube is long tubular, slender at the base, bright vermilion, and 5 to 7.5 cm long. The petals are short, 1 cm long, and deep crimson.

Fuchsia scabra

The branches are slender and creeping, and the calyx is simple apricot yellow.

Coral Red Fuchsia

A clumping dwarf variety with dark leaves and large whorls of flowers ; the calyx is crimson and the corolla is violet.

Spherical short-tube fuchsia

The branches are hairless and drooping, the leaf veins are red, the pedicels are long and the sepals are crimson ; the petals are bright blue-violet and about 1/2 the length of the sepal lobes.

Different color short tube fuchsia

A clumping dwarf variety with dark purple-red branches. The leaves are small, arranged in whorls of 3 , and ovate-lanceolate. Flowers are small and numerous ; calyx is red with a short and thin tube ; petals are obtuse and shorter than calyx lobes.

Lei's short-barreled fuchsia

The branches are slender and drooping. The leaves are very small. The flowers are long and drooping ; the calyx tube is bright red and the petals are violet.

Three-leaf fuchsia

A low, clumping shrub, 20 to 50 cm tall, with leaves usually arranged in whorls of 3 , green on the surface, bright reddish-brown on the back, and densely hairy on the veins. The flowers are scarlet, 4 cm long, with a long calyx tube that is enlarged at the top and very short petals.
