What is the difference between Jianlan and Hanlan

The following method of distinction is used when the two orchids are growing healthily. If they are growing poorly, it is impossible to distinguish them at all.

Difference 1: Leaf glossiness

In the wild, Jianlan's leaves are more emerald green and lustrous, while Chunlan's are a little darker in color.

Difference 2: Leaf texture

A closer look at the leaves will also reveal obvious differences. The lines on the leaves of Jianlan are relatively thick and accompanied by red threads. The lines of Chunlan are relatively fine and round, with very few red threads.

Difference 3: Leaf size

One of the ways to distinguish Jianlan and Chunlan is to look at the size of the leaves. The leaves of Jianlan are wider than those of Chunlan, while the leaves of Chunlan are harder and rougher than those of Jianlan.

Difference 4: Stem size

The pseudobulb of Jianlan is larger, while that of Chunlan is relatively smaller, which is very obvious when the two are placed together.

Difference 5: Number of leaves

Jianlan has fewer leaves, and healthy orchid seedlings generally have less than 5 leaves; on the contrary, Chunlan has more leaves, and healthy seedlings will have more than 5 leaves.
