What are the common types of kidney ferns?

Nephrolepis longifolia

The kidney fern is said to be one of the ornamental ferns, but the ornamental value of this long-leaf kidney fern is not very high. As the name suggests, the long-leaf fern has relatively long leaves, but the leaves here are not leaf blades but compound leaves. The compound leaves of the long-leaf fern are about one hundred centimeters long. The leaves are relatively rough and have no luster, but they also have high ornamental value. The growth of long-leaf kidney fern has extremely high requirements for temperature and humidity, so special attention should be paid during maintenance. In summer, it is necessary to water it more often and provide it with shade. In winter, the water for watering will freeze, so the amount of water can be reduced appropriately, but it should not be exposed to drought for a long time.

Ampelopsis edulis

As a variety of kidney fern, the compound leaves of the ferns can reach fifty to sixty centimeters. The leaves are an eye-catching light green color with a circle of sharp "teeth" on the edge. If the leaves dry, this circle of "teeth" will easily fall off. This type of grass is also called fine-leaved grass, which is particularly susceptible to diseases and pests, so it should be sprayed with medicine at the appropriate time.

Longleaf spatholobus

The difference between it and the grass is the length of the compound leaves. The length of the compound leaves of the long-leaf grass can reach about 150 cm, which is about three times that of the compound leaves of the grass, and the width is about 15 cm, which is about five times the width of the compound leaves of the grass. The leaves of the long-leafed amaranth are dark green, bright and shiny, and have extremely high ornamental value.
