Walnut is a specialty of Yunnan, Hebei and Gansu. Yangbi Yi Autonomous County of Yunnan, Dayao County of Yunnan, Changning County of Yunnan, She County of Hebei Province and Cheng County of Gansu Province have always been known as the hometown of walnuts in China.

Walnut market time

Walnuts mature and go on the market at different times depending on their variety. Generally speaking, the maturity period of early-maturing and late-maturing varieties can differ by about 10-25 days. Walnuts in northern regions usually mature and go on the market in early to mid-September, while in southern regions they will mature and go on the market as early as July.
