Temperature and light

Daffodils are temperate bulbous flowers that prefer cool climates and avoid high temperatures and humidity. The suitable temperature for their growth is around 10-15℃. Daffodils are not sensitive to light. Sufficient light is needed during the leaf growth period, and semi-shade is best during the flowering period. If daffodils do not receive enough light for a long time during their growth period, the leaves will easily become elongated, soft and drooping, but this will have little effect on flowering.

Moisture

During the growth period of daffodils, they need to be given sufficient water, but care should be taken to avoid waterlogging. After daffodils bloom, you can gradually reduce watering, and they need to be kept dry during the dormant period of their bulbs.

soil

The soil suitable for growing daffodils is slightly acidic sandy loam rich in organic matter.

Fertilization

During the growth period of daffodils, you can water them with a dilute solution of potassium dihydrogen phosphate once every two weeks, or you can apply a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer.

Precautions

After planting daffodils, the plants should be moved to a semi-shaded place with about 50% sunlight for maintenance, and the soil should be kept moist. When the leaf buds emerge from the soil surface, they should be moved to an environment with about 70-80% sunlight for management. The flowering period of daffodils can be adjusted by adjusting different light, humidity and temperature.
