Breeding methods and precautions of zebra evergreen

Breeding methods and precautions of zebra evergreen

1. Breeding methods

1. Temperature

It is really afraid of cold. In winter, the temperature should be above 8 degrees to allow it to survive the winter safely, otherwise it will suffer frost damage. Especially when the temperature is below zero degrees, the plant will die directly. Generally, the most suitable temperature for its growth is between 18 and 30 degrees, so the temperature must be controlled well.

2. Lighting

It is also very afraid of direct sunlight and often grows in the shade. Even short-term sunlight is not allowed because it will make its leaves turn yellow and withered. So it is different from other plants. It doesn't like light very much, and it is precisely because of this that it is suitable to be grown indoors.

3. Moisture

This is a point that needs to be paid attention to. If it is summer, we should spray some water on its leaves in the morning and evening, and also on the ground around its plant. This can not only lower the temperature but also increase the humidity.

In spring and autumn, when watering, you should check the dryness of the soil in the pot. If it is not dry, don't water it. If it is dry, you can water it appropriately. After entering winter, we need to reduce watering, because if the soil in the pot is too moist at this time, its roots will rot.

4. Fertilization

Generally, when we first plant it, we need to apply some base fertilizer to it. Then during the growing season, which is spring and autumn, we can add fertilizer to it once every half a month or so to meet the nutrients it needs for growth. After that, we don't need to apply fertilizer anymore during summer and winter. Otherwise it will have the opposite effect.

5. Soil

It likes to grow in loose, fertile, well-drained soil, and is intolerant to salt and alkali. Generally, when choosing potting soil, the most commonly used one is a mixture of leaf mold, garden soil and a small amount of river sand. This can meet its growth needs and allow it to grow better in the future.

2. Precautions

Although it looks good, please note that its juice is poisonous, so be careful not to touch it with your hands, otherwise it will become itchy.
