The difference between sunflower and chrysanthemum

Morphological characteristics:

1. Sunflower. The height of the sunflower plant is generally between 60 cm and 150 cm, and its emerald green leaves grow symmetrically and are long oval in shape. The flowers of the sunflower grow in clusters and are very beautiful. Its flower diameter is generally 5 cm-7 cm, the flower color is bright yellow, and the flowering time is generally from June to September.

2. Chrysanthemum. The plant height of the heliotropism is slightly lower than that of the sunflower, and its leaves are denser and broad-sloped needle-shaped. The flowers of the chrysanthemum usually bloom at the top, the petals are relatively large, the flower color is lemon yellow, and the flowering time is generally from July to October.

Growth habit:

1. Sunflower. Sunflower is native to North America. It can withstand severe cold and prefers sunny and dry environments. It can grow particularly well in any kind of soil and has a very strong survival ability.

2. Chrysanthemum. Although the heather is not too picky about the environment, it is more suitable for growing in an environment of 15℃ to 28℃, and can grow better in alkaline soil.

Breeding and cultivation:

1. Sunflower. Sunflower has relatively low soil requirements and is relatively easy to grow. The planting period is generally chosen in spring and summer. It is propagated by division or sowing. The distance between seedlings must be guaranteed to be 40x40 cm. Another thing to note is that the sunflower should be watered in time during the growth period.

2. Chrysanthemum. The sowing time for the chrysanthemum is generally from August to September, and the transplanting is carried out in mid-March of the following spring. The spacing between the seedlings is 15x20 cm. Before planting, be sure to till the land and apply base fertilizer such as bean cake or dried chicken manure, and remember to water the plants once a week. After the flowers fall, they should be pruned in time to speed up the formation of new buds.

Main value:

1. Sunflower. Sunflower is generally used as a greening material and can be planted next to fences, on the edge of lawns, in parks and other places.

2. Chrysanthemum. The ornamental value of the chrysanthemum is stronger than that of the sunflower. It is generally used to arrange flower mirrors or as ground covers, and the effect is very good.
