What is the difference between the large-leaved umbrella and the Schefflera arborvitae

What is the difference between the large-leaved umbrella and the Schefflera arborvitae

1. The difference between leaves

The leaves of the large-leaved umbrella are palmately compound, relatively broad, umbrella-shaped, 20-30cm long and 10cm wide. The leaf surface is agricultural green, the back of the leaf is light green, the petiole is reddish brown, and is 5-10cm long. The leaflets of Schefflera are elliptical, oblong-elliptical or obovate-elliptical, 9-17cm long and 3-5cm wide. The petioles are 1.5-5cm long, longer in the middle and shorter on both sides.

2. The difference between branches and trunks

The stem of the umbrella tree is upright, smooth and has few branches. When it is first born, the young branches are green at first, then brown and very smooth, and gradually become woody in the later period. The twigs of Schefflera are thick and wrinkled when dry. They are densely covered with short star-shaped hairs when young, but soon become sparse and fall off.

3. The difference between flowers

The flowers of the macrophylla are cone-shaped and relatively small. The berries are spherical and purple-red when ripe. The top of the inflorescence of Schefflera is conical, and the branches are oblique in the later stage. The inflorescence is umbel, the flowers are white, the flowers are reversed, gradually become styles, and the disk is flat. The fruit is spherical and black.
