How to Identify Cauliflower

How to Identify Cauliflower

1. Blades

Cauliflower leaves are divided into basal leaves and stem leaves, which vary in shape and size. The basal leaves and the lower ones are oblong to elliptic, about 2-3.5 cm long, gray-green in color, with rounded apex, not curled, spreading, with fine teeth or entire. There are petioles, about 2-3 cm long. The leaves on the upper part of the stem are smaller, sessile, and oblong to lanceolate.

2. Flowers

There is a pedicel at the top of the stem, and the racemes are axillary or terminal. The flowers are light yellow in color and will turn white later. The flowering period is in April every year.

3. Fruit

Cauliflower is a cylindrical silique, about 3-4 cm long, with a midrib, thinner at the top and thicker at the bottom, about 10-12 mm long. Its seeds are broadly oval, about 2 mm long, and brown in color. The fruit season is in May every year.
