The difference between shrimp orchid and azalea orchid

1. Differences in the stems

The rhizome of the shrimp orchid is not very obvious, the pseudobulb is relatively thick and short, conical in shape, and about 1 cm in diameter.

The pseudobulb of Rhododendron orchid is ovoid or nearly spherical in shape, 1.5 to 3 cm long and about 1 to 3 cm in diameter.

2. The difference of leaves

The leaves of the shrimp orchid are oblong in shape, about 25 cm long and 4 to 9 cm wide.

The leaves of the azalea orchid are narrow oval in shape, about 18 to 34 cm long and about 5 to 8 cm wide.

3. The difference of flowers

The scape of the shrimp orchid is shorter, about 18 to 30 cm, densely covered with short hairs, and the raceme is about 6 to 8 cm long.

The scape of Rhododendron orchid is relatively upright and long, about 27 to 70 cm, and the raceme is about 10 to 25 cm long.
