1. Leaf DifferenceThe leaves of Sophora flavescens have only three leaflets, the petiole is 4 to 4.5 cm long and has short hairs. The leaflets are thick, papery, oval, 8 to 9.5 cm long and 3 to 5 cm wide. The tip of the leaves is short acuminate or obtuse, and the base is broadly cuneate. The leaves of honeysuckle are papery, ovate or oblong-ovate, with a sharp or gradually tapering apex and a round or nearly heart-shaped base. 2. Flower DifferencesThe raceme of Sophora flavescens is 6 to 10.5 cm long, the peduncle is 3 to 3.5 cm long, and the pedicel is 0.5 to 0.7 cm long, all covered with short soft hairs. The calyx is cup-shaped with obtuse triangular lobes, the corolla is white, and the petals of the standard petal are oblong. The peduncle of honeysuckle is usually solitary in the upper leaf axils of small branches. The corolla is white, sometimes with a slightly reddish base on the sunny side, and finally gradually turns yellow. |
