How to safely overwinter jasmine? Will jasmine be frozen to death?

1. Methods for safe wintering

1. Control water: Although jasmine usually likes moisture, the temperature is relatively low in winter and there is little sunlight, so the water evaporates slowly. It is not advisable to water too much. The soil needs to be kept dry so that the branches can become lignified and the ability to resist frost can be enhanced. Therefore, you must control watering at ordinary times and wait until the soil in the pot is dry before watering. Do not keep it too wet.

2. Maintain the temperature: The temperature in the southern region is still relatively high in winter, so there is no need to move the plant indoors. It can be grown outdoors. If the temperature is low, you can cover it with a plastic bag and place it in a sunny and sheltered place, and open it at noon to let it ventilate. If the surrounding climate of jasmine drops to 3 degrees Celsius, it will cause frostbite, so it must be moved indoors in the north in winter to ensure a good temperature.

3. Stop fertilizing: Although the plant is still alive at this time, its growth activities are relatively slow and the roots cannot absorb fertilizer, so you need to stop fertilizing. If you apply too much fertilizer, it can cause root rot.

4. Increase sunlight: In winter, ensure that jasmine grows in a sunny place. Supplementing sufficient light can also increase the temperature.

2. Will I freeze to death?

In winter, as long as you take good measures to keep warm, jasmine will not be frozen to death. If the temperature is not suitable and it grows in a cold environment for a long time, it may be frozen to death.
