How to water winter coral

How to water winter coral

Water requirements

Winter coral's demand for water is relatively demanding among plants. It is neither drought-tolerant nor afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, growers should pay special attention to water when growing winter corals.

Watering at different times

If it is a winter coral that has just been transplanted, water is necessary. Pour an appropriate amount of water and pay attention to drainage.

During the peak growing season, when the branches continue to grow rapidly, you can water them more appropriately, but avoid waterlogging.

Do not overwater during the initial flowering period; just keep the soil slightly moist. At the same time, spraying water should be avoided as much as possible because this is the pollination period. In order to avoid the loss of pollen or even the falling of flowers, watering should not be done. When the flowers bloom in large numbers and small green fruits appear faintly on the branches, you can increase the amount of watering appropriately. You can also spray a little water on the branches and leaves, but don't use too much.

Precautions

It is best not to water during the hottest periods, especially in the high temperatures of summer.

Not only should the amount of water be controlled, but if it rains a lot during the rainy season, the potted winter coral should not be placed outdoors to be attacked by rain. If the plants are soaked in a lot of rain, it may affect their flowering and fruiting or cause root rot, or even cause the plants to become sick and die.

Pay attention to keeping the soil in the pot basically consistent in dryness. Don't let it be too dry at one moment and too wet at another. This is extremely detrimental to the normal development of winter corals.

To control moisture, also pay attention to drainage when choosing soil. In this way, even if the amount of water is excessive, it can be drained out in time without causing too much harm to the plants.
