Characteristics of Phalaenopsis

1. Appearance characteristics

1. The stem of Phalaenopsis is relatively short, and the leaves are somewhat fleshy, usually 3-4 in number, but there may be more. The front of the leaf is green, the back is purple, and the shape is oval or oblong. The tips of its leaves are somewhat blunt or pointed, and the length is about 10-20cm.

2. It is white when it blooms, the flowering period is very long, and the pedicels are very slender. Its petals are not long, only about 2.7-3.4cm, and are diamond-shaped.

2. Distribution characteristics

The origin of Phalaenopsis is in the tropical rainforest area. Most of them grow in relatively humid areas. They are widely planted in Taiwan, my country. It is a widespread plant found in areas such as the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia.

3. Habitual characteristics

It is a plant that likes warmth, but it is also cold-resistant, and the temperature in winter just needs to be no lower than 10℃. It does not like to grow in a too humid environment as it will easily attract diseases and pests. Phalaenopsis has aerial roots with good absorption ability, so it does not require much water.
