How to grow eggplant

How to grow eggplant

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Eggplant requires relatively high temperature to grow. Generally, the ambient temperature should be kept between 25 and 30 degrees during the growth period. However, the high temperature in summer should not exceed 30 degrees, otherwise the skin of the fruit will become very thick. The minimum temperature cannot be lower than 20 degrees, otherwise it will cause unnecessary impact on it.

2. Watering: Moist soil is indispensable for its growth. If the soil is moist, it will grow more vigorously. At the same time, if there is not enough watering, it will also affect its normal fruit setting. Therefore, in summer, it is necessary to water it thoroughly so that it can fully absorb it.

3. Light: It needs full sunlight. It will grow perfectly under sufficient light and can also promote the germination of flower buds, which can increase the yield in disguise. In the summer, there is no need to shade it and allow it to absorb enough light.

4. Fertilization: Eggplant does not have high requirements for fertilizer. You can apply some animal manure as base fertilizer before planting, and then apply it before harvesting. Some compound fertilizers or organic fertilizers can make the fruits fuller and the yield will naturally increase.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: It is mainly propagated by sowing. The seeds need to be processed in advance and cannot be sown directly. They need to be soaked in hot water at about 55° and then stirred continuously until the water temperature is about 30°. Then they can be sown, and the substrate must also be kept moist.

2. Pruning: After bearing fruit, the shape of the plant will be seriously distorted and can be pruned. Prune away dead and old branches to encourage new growth. The wound must also be treated after pruning. You can spray some carbendazim solution to prevent wound infection.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: Early blight may occur, which can be controlled by using wettable powder. Using it seven times in a row will produce good results.

2. Pests: Red spider mites will leave white spots on eggplants, making them inedible. You can use DDT solution to eliminate them.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: Non-toxic, vegetables with very high nutritional value.

2. Can it be raised at home? It is not recommended to raise it at home, because it will not grow well there.
