Willow cultivation methods and precautions

Willow cultivation methods and precautions

1. Maintenance methods

1. Substrate selection: Willow does not have high requirements for soil, has strong adaptability, can tolerate saline and alkali, and can grow in harsh ecological conditions. However, it will grow better in fertile plains and is likely to suffer from root rot in clay soils.

2. Light management: Willow trees do not have excessive requirements for light. They can grow regardless of whether there is sufficient sunlight or not.

3. Temperature management: Willow trees like moisture and can tolerate harsh ecological environments such as cold, heat, and drought. It has good cold resistance and can grow without any frost damage under conditions of an annual average temperature of 2°C and a minimum temperature below zero.

4. Water management: It likes moisture, so you can water it more often. It can grow well in moist soil. In arid areas, the survival rate is relatively low and they are prone to die or grow into small old trees.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Sowing: Use seeds harvested in April, with a thousand-grain weight of 0.4 grams. Just sow them directly. Transplantation should be done after the leaves fall in winter and before the germination in early spring of the following year. Water it sufficiently after planting.

2. Cutting: It is carried out in early spring. Choose excellent plants with good growth status and few diseases and insects as mother trees, and cut off the sprouting branches that have grown for about 3 years. Then for cuttings, water thoroughly to keep the soil moist, and apply fertilizer about 4 times after the roots sprout.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Scarab beetles: After discovery, you can use 1500-2000 times diluted avermectin or Senle, or 500-800 times diluted Bt to spray for prevention and control.

2. Rot disease: Dead branches and leaves should be removed and burned in time to prevent diseases and insect pests. Drugs such as dimethoate and trichlorfon can also be used for prevention and control.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be planted in the ground: It can be planted in the ground. It has no strict requirements on soil, temperature, etc. It has a relatively high survival rate and can also provide shade for people.

2. Is it poisonous? It is not poisonous. Willow can be used for gardening and has high ornamental value. It has strong resistance to dust and air pollution, and can purify the air and beautify the environment. It is a good tree species for beautifying the environment.
