Osmanthus species classification, osmanthus species classification and differences

1. Variety classification

1. Golden Osmanthus: Golden Osmanthus blooms mostly in autumn, specifically around September every year. It is not easy for it to bloom. It usually takes four to five years or even longer to accumulate enough nutrients before it can bloom. Don't be too impatient when maintaining it, and also pay attention to management methods.

2. Silver Osmanthus: This variety is mostly cultivated in the southern region, and its flowers are creamy yellow. It emits a rich fragrance every year when it blooms and is deeply loved by people. It is considered to be a relatively excellent variety.

3. Osmanthus fragrans: As its name suggests, it can bloom in all seasons. Normally, it blooms every two or three months, with fragrant flowers. The tree has a beautiful shape and is highly ornamental.

4. Osmanthus fragrans: This variety is relatively precious. Its flower color is the darkest among all varieties, which is orange-yellow, and the flower fragrance is slightly lighter. The flowering period is also concentrated in autumn, specifically between September and early October.

2. Differences

The main difference between its varieties is reflected in the leaves. The leaves of Osmanthus fragrans are slightly rounder and the tip is almost invisible. The leaves of silver osmanthus, golden osmanthus and red osmanthus are relatively narrow and long, with obvious tips. They can also be distinguished by leaf color. Among them, the leaves of Osmanthus fragrans are the darkest, dark green. The second is golden osmanthus, which is dark green. The color of silver osmanthus is the lightest, which is green.
