What should I do if there are insects in Phalaenopsis? What medicine should I use?

1. Scale insects

Scale insects damage its leaves, pseudobulbs and leaf sheaths. When the infestation is serious, the entire leaves will turn yellow and wither. This is mostly caused by poor ventilation, lack of light or high humidity. After discovering the insect eggs, you can use a brush dipped in water to brush them off, or simply cut off the infested part and burn it. If there are a lot of insect pests, spray the sudamipine emulsion as soon as possible, once every 7-10 days. It will be effective after three consecutive sprays.

2. Aphids

Aphids are also one of its common pests, which mainly harm young leaves and cause deformation of leaves and flower spikes. The juice secreted by pests will also attract ants, which can easily cause diseases over time. Spray omethoate and pyrethrin as soon as possible, and spray the two drugs alternately, so the effect will be better.

3. Whitefly

Whiteflies usually concentrate on orchid plants. In serious cases, the entire leaves and leaf sheaths will be covered with whiteflies. This pest has a strong reproductive capacity and must be treated once discovered to prevent the infestation from worsening. It is recommended to spray Marathon Emulsion or Sumeisong Emulsion once every 7-10 days, and at least three consecutive sprays are required to be effective.

IV. Precautions

No matter what kind of pest it is, you must change the maintenance method and strengthen management after spraying pesticides to treat it, otherwise it will be infected again later. Place the plants in a ventilated place to increase ventilation. Watering should be reduced and a hot and humid environment must not be provided.
