Epiphyllum is a plant of the genus Epiphyllum in the Cactaceae family, and Queen of the Night belongs to the genus Cyperus in the Cactaceae family, so these are not the same plant, but plants of the same family. The appearance of Epiphyllum and Queen of the Night is very similar. Epiphyllum has relatively flat, plate-like stems and is a succulent shrub, while Queen of the Night has triangular stems and is a herbaceous climbing plant.

2. Is it open at night?

Epiphyllum blooms at night and does not bloom during the day. It blooms at night because its origin is in tropical deserts, where the environment is relatively dry and hot. The temperature is relatively high during the day and water evaporates quickly, so the plants need to absorb enough water. At night, the evaporation of water will slow down, and the plant can only bloom after absorbing sufficient water, so it blooms at night.

It blooms at 8 or 9 o'clock in the evening. The flowers are open for a short time, usually only lasting a few hours. The flowers will wither and close around midnight.

3. How to grow flowers
