The growth environment conditions and characteristics of yew

Environmental conditions and requirements for the growth of yew

The yew tree is widely distributed in my country, and is often found near villages, on the edge of forests, in valleys, and in sparse woods in valleys. The wild plant has almost harsh requirements for living conditions and is very strict about the climate, preferring a shady and warm growing environment.

Yew growth temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for yew is 10-22℃. The plant has a certain degree of cold resistance, and the lowest cold resistance temperature is -11℃. However, if it grows in a low temperature environment for a long time, the plant will also suffer from freezing.

Yew growth humidity

The yew tree has relatively high requirements for air humidity when growing, especially in the dry summer. It needs to be watered about once every 3-5 days, and the plant should be sprayed with water once in the morning and evening to maintain the air humidity.

Soil for growing yew

Yew prefers loose, moist, well-drained soil. When planting, high-quality soil should be used as the main soil. If it is potted, the soil can be prepared with peat soil, perlite, and sandy soil.

Growth cycle and process of yew

It takes 100-250 years for yew to grow into a mature tree. After the plant germinates, the seedling can be transplanted to a greenhouse when it grows to 15 cm. The lifespan of the plant is very long. If there is no human damage, the plant can live for more than 1,000 years.
