A great way to solve the problem of water accumulation in potted flowers

Spreading dry needles at the bottom of the pot is like a layer of sponge, with strong penetration and drainage capabilities. The needles will not dissolve and clog the drainage holes due to water penetration. When it is time to repot, you can mix the used needles into the new culture soil to allow them to have a certain fertilizer effect and increase the looseness of the potting soil.

The peel can neutralize the alkaline soil

Some flowers from the south are difficult to survive or bloom in potted plants in the north because the potting soil is too alkaline. There are many ways to neutralize alkaline soil. You can soak the peeled apple peels and apple cores in cold water and use this water to water the flowers frequently. This can gradually reduce the alkalinity of the potting soil and benefit the growth of certain plants.

Eliminate ants in flower pots

When small flying insects appear in the flowerpots, you can use three or four cotton swabs, dip them in DDT (which is difficult to find now), until it stops dripping, then insert the handle into the potting soil around the plant and the flying insects will be eliminated.

Dissolve one tablespoon of laundry detergent in 4 liters of water and spray the leaves and flowers every two weeks to completely eliminate white flies and bacteria.

Mash 200 grams of onion or garlic to extract the juice, put it into 100 liters of water and soak it overnight. Use the water to spray the infested plants several times a day for five consecutive days to effectively remove the pests.

When ants appear in the flowerpot, soak cigarette butts and tobacco in hot water for one or two days. When the water turns dark brown, sprinkle some of the water on the flower stems and leaves, dilute the rest and pour it into the flowerpot, and the ants will be eliminated.

How to water the flowers when no one is at home

You can fill a plastic bag with water, use a needle to poke a small hole in the bottom of the bag, and place it in the flowerpot. The small hole should be close to the soil, and the water will slowly seep out to moisten the soil. The size of the hole must be controlled to prevent water from leaking too quickly.

Place a container filled with cool water next to the flowerpot, find a wide cloth strip with good water absorption, put one end into the water in the container, and bury the other end in the soil in the flowerpot. In this way, the soil can remain moist for at least half a month, and the flowers will not wither.

Fertilizer deodorization method

If fermented solution is used as fertilizer for indoor flowers, it will emit an unpleasant odor. If you put orange peels into the fertilizer liquid, the odor will be eliminated. At the same time, orange peel itself is also an excellent fertilizer.

How to clean the dirt on plants

When many families clean the house, they usually rinse the potted flowers under the faucet, which often affects the growth of the plants due to the sudden change in temperature. If it is a foliage plant, you can dip it in water and clean it one by one along the veins of the branches and leaves. Other plants can be watered with a spray bottle.
