Repotting the Rose

Potting method

Repotting means taking the seedlings out of their original pots without damaging the plants. Before pouring the pot, you need to be careful not to water it and keep the soil in the pot properly dry so that the mud ball can be poured out completely.

Specific operation method: Hold the pot with one hand, make a fist with the other hand, and gently tap the pot to create a gap between the soil and the pot wall, allowing the soil to fall off naturally. If the flowerpot is large, wait until the soil is loose, then hold it with your hands and take it out.

Mud treatment

Peel off part of the mud at the roots of the plant, cut off the roots that are too long or damaged, and then put it in a pot. If the mud ball is surrounded by new white roots, there is no need to trim it, just put it in the pot directly.

Prepare the location

Before potting, you need to find a relatively high place, such as setting up a small table, to improve efficiency. In addition, various materials: flower pots, soil, and various gardening tools must be prepared.

Potting method

Pot pad: Find a few broken tiles and cover the drainage hole with them, with the concave side facing down. This can block the drainage hole and prevent the soil from leaking out.

Potting: Add a small amount of coarse sand into the pot, then hold the seedling with one hand and plant the plant upright in the pot. Use your other hand to add soil to the pot until it is full. Then shake the flowerpot gently to allow the soil to combine tightly with the flowerpot. After potting, water it thoroughly, and then water it again after the water is absorbed. After potting, the plant needs 3 to 7 days of recovery.

Recommended by our Editor

When potting, do not damage the leaves or break the stems, otherwise it will prolong the recovery period of the plant. In addition, all tools used in the operation must be disinfected, especially the soil, which must be exposed to high temperatures or stir-fried in a hot pan to avoid pathogens in the soil after repotting.
