Cutting propagationSelection of cuttingsIt is suitable to choose branches that are healthy and free of diseases and insect pests for cuttings. Choose the sunny branches in the middle and upper parts of the same plant that year. It is best to choose branches with short internodes, full bud tips, and sturdy branches and leaves. Choice of substrateGenerally, peat soil, leaf mold and sand can be mixed in a ratio of 3:3:4 to facilitate the rooting and sprouting of branches. Processing cuttingsBefore cuttings, it is best to treat the cuttings with ABT rooting powder or other agents to promote rooting. Cut the cuttings into sections of about 8-12 cm, retaining 2-3 buds. The incision at the bottom of the cuttings is generally 0.5 cm below the node. The incision should be smooth. Cut off the lower leaves, leaving only the top 2-3 leaves. The insertion depth is generally about 3 cm. Conditions for rootingThe suitable rooting temperature of tuberose is between 20-24℃. Generally, the soil temperature is 3-5℃ higher than the air temperature, which is more conducive to rooting. The relative humidity of the air in the growing bed is 80%-90%, and the light intensity is required to be around 30%. The water content should be appropriate, with a slightly higher water content in the early stage of cuttings and a slightly drier content in the later stage. Strengthen post-insertion managementAfter the cuttings are completed, they should be watered thoroughly, covered with plastic film, and placed in a shaded place to avoid direct sunlight. Additional light is needed at night to help the cuttings survive. Ventilate the soil 1-2 times a day to replenish oxygen and prevent diseases. It is necessary to spray water frequently to keep the cutting bed moderately moist, but if too much water is sprayed, it will affect the healing and rooting of the cuttings. When the new roots grow to 2-3 cm, they can be transplanted into pots. |
