Can succulents be watered after adapting to the pot?

Can succulents be watered after adapting to the pot?

The reason why watering is not allowed:

When succulents are repotted, their roots will be damaged, so that the roots cannot absorb any water, nutrients and other energy from the soil during the acclimatization period. At this time, the succulents will absorb water and nutrients from the mature old leaves at the bottom that are closest to the soil, grow new roots, and the mature old leaves will wither.

Why sacrifice mature old leaves:

One reason is that the mature old leaves are at the bottom, close to the soil surface;

Second, they cannot photosynthesize with the leaves above;

Third, they are gradually aging and there is no need to cultivate them otherwise, so succulents will actively choose them to be sacrificed first.

In fact, if you often observe succulents during the acclimatization period, you will find that there are always a few leaves at the bottom of each pot of plants that are slowly drying up and the moisture is disappearing bit by bit. At this time, many friends will think that it is caused by lack of watering, but in fact it is sacrificing the small self for the sake of the big self. So friends, don’t worry.

When can you water during the acclimatization period?

During the transplant period, the roots have not been treated and there are no diseases or insect pests. This is equivalent to moving the entire soil when repotting. In this case, you can water it. Because its roots are not damaged in any way, it can still absorb water and nutrients from the soil normally.
