The flower language of lotus is innocence, steadfastness, purity, faith, loyalty and love; it also has many symbolic meanings such as metaphor for beauty, symbolizing love or expressing the noble sentiment of "coming out of the mud without being stained".

Different types of flowers have different meanings. The flower language of silver anemone is loss of hope and gradually shallow love; the purple silver anemone means secret admiration; the white silver anemone means the joy of love; the snowflake anemone means a pure heart; and the land anemone means condemnation.

2. Legend

Legend has it that a beautiful maid named "Yu Ji" beside the Queen Mother of the West envied the love between men and women in the world, so she sneaked away to the bank of West Lake to play happily, and was reluctant to leave until dark. When the Queen Mother of the West saw her, she used the lotus throne to knock her into the lake, making her "sink into the mud, never to be able to ascend to the South Heaven again." From then on, there was one more pure and clean flower in the world.
