How to fertilize Epiphyllum

How to fertilize Epiphyllum

The best time to fertilize:

It is best to fertilize Epiphyllum on a cloudy day, and the soil for planting Epiphyllum should be relatively dry, because watering is needed after fertilizing. If the soil is already moist, watering after fertilizing will easily damage the roots. If watering is not done, the fertilizer cannot be well absorbed by the plant, and it is not conducive to the dilution and dissolution of the fertilizer, and the roots may be easily burned by the fertilizer.

Fertilizer selection:

Cake fertilizer: Many friends say that cake fertilizer is not strong enough, but based on the editor’s experience in breeding, this is just right. Therefore, plants should not be fed with heavy fertilizers. Moreover, the nitrogen content in cake fertilizer is relatively high, so it is very suitable for this plant.

Nitrogen fertilizer: Nitrogen fertilizer is beneficial to the growth of the leaves of this plant and enhances its photosynthesis.

Potassium fertilizer: Potassium fertilizer can be mixed with nitrogen fertilizer to make the branches, stems and leaves of this plant thicker and stronger.

Iron fertilizer: Also called ferrous sulfate, this fertilizer is also suitable for this plant.

Compound fertilizer: This type of fertilizer is easy to buy and does not produce any odor after application, but it is not as effective as other fertilizers. The only benefit is that it has no odor.

Fertilization method:

When changing the soil or potting for plants, you can apply base fertilizer.

In daily maintenance, fertilize about once every two weeks. When fertilizing, you can bury the fertilizer in the soil, but not too deep; you can also dilute it with water and then pour it into the soil. The two methods bring the same effect. The amount of fertilizer to be used can be determined by reading its instructions, which will be provided when you purchase the fertilizer. Of course, if you are an experienced flower grower, you can fertilize based on your own experience.

If the diameter of the flowerpot is about 20 cm, 10 to 15 fertilizers can be put in at a time.
