How to propagate heart-leaf hollanda

How to propagate heart-leaf hollanda

Breeding time

This plant can basically be propagated before the end of spring, because this is the best time for them to take root, and their stems and leaves can also grow well. Too hot or too cold is not conducive to rooting.

Reproduction method

This type of ball orchid can be propagated by cuttings or layering. When doing cuttings, you must pay attention to make sure the cut is flat. If conditions permit, you can apply a little rooting agent. If you choose this method, you also need to pay attention to the temperature to be maintained at 20-25℃. This time will take a little longer, about 2 months. After the roots come out, just observe for another 2 weeks. Once there are no problems with the root development, you can transplant and maintain it normally.

If you choose to layer high branches, you can also do it in spring. However, this method is relatively difficult. You can try it, but there are a few things to note. First of all, you need to choose a branch with better growth, which everyone should know. After peeling, wrap the wound with moisturizing and rooting substances, tie it tightly at the bottom, and leave an opening at the top. If the roots are not fully grown, do not cut them off easily. Be sure to wait until they are fully grown before putting them in the pot. Secondly, the soil should be loose and the fertility should not be too strong.

Post-breeding care

After transplanting, you cannot relax easily and you need to take good care of it for a period of time. When it comes to midsummer, don't think that this flower is very short of water and increase the frequency of watering. In fact, you should reduce watering in the summer, especially not around 2 o'clock when the sun is strongest, and try to do it in the evening.
