Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of snapdragon

Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of snapdragon

1. Lack of water

1. Reason: Snapdragon is very sensitive to water. Its potting soil must be kept moist. It must also be watered sufficiently when growing in pots. Too little water will cause the leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: The plant needs to be watered immediately to replenish moisture, and the soil needs to be kept moist at all times and not too dry. But be careful not to allow water to accumulate and damage the root system, otherwise it will cause the leaves to turn yellow.

2. Temperature is too high

1. Reason: Snapdragon is relatively cold-resistant but not resistant to high temperatures. High temperatures will have an adverse effect on its growth. If the temperature is higher than 15 degrees, the plant will grow slowly and the leaves will turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: It should be moved to a cool and shaded place for maintenance, allowing it to recover slowly. In the later stage, the temperature for plant growth should be controlled at around 7-15 degrees, which is conducive to the growth of the plant.

3. Excessive nitrogen fertilizer

1. Reason: Snapdragon itself has rhizobia, which means it has the function of fixing nitrogen. Therefore, under normal circumstances, nitrogen fertilizer is not needed. If too much nitrogen fertilizer is applied, it will burn the roots and cause the leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: When applying fertilizer, change to mainly use phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer, and reduce the amount of nitrogen fertilizer.
