How to water the potted orchid

Watering method

During the period of vigorous growth, water cannot be lacking in summer, otherwise it will easily lead to poor growth. They need 20% humidity to grow. We all know that when watering the flowers, you must water them thoroughly, not just halfway. Be sure not to water directly on the plant, but water in the potting soil.

How to water different substrates

If flower lovers use a harder substrate, they can water it more often, maybe once a day, but if they choose a substrate with better moisturizing ability such as pond mud, they can water it once every 2-3 days. Because this type of substrate has a strong ability to retain water, excessive watering can easily cause water accumulation. In principle, the water should not cover the rim of the basin each time. It is also best to use slightly acidic water for watering, especially for friends in the north, where the water is relatively alkaline and can be treated before use.

Watering time

In the summer when the sun is at its highest, it is best to water the plants early in the morning and late in the evening, but in the other three seasons, you can choose to water them at 10 am or 4 pm. Be sure to avoid a large difference between water temperature and soil temperature, as this will harm the plants. When the temperature is lower in winter, you can choose to leave the water for a while before watering, or heat the water to about 15℃ before using it.

Precautions

When watering, it is best to choose the spraying method, which can not only increase the surrounding humidity, but also remove the dust on the leaves, allowing the leaves to better carry out photosynthesis. However, if it is a flowering plant, you cannot use the spraying method. You can choose to place the flower pot directly in the basin of water, but do not let the water level cover the mouth of the pot.
