Cultivation methods and precautions of hydroponic Monstera

Cultivation methods and precautions of hydroponic Monstera

1. Moisture

Monstera is a green plant that likes water very much, but don’t think that just putting it in water is enough. In addition to regularly adding water to the vase, you must also ensure the humidity of the leaves. You can spray water around or on the leaves. This will help keep the leaves fresh, prevent them from turning yellow or withering, and keep the color brighter.

2. Lighting

It is undeniable that green foliage plants all love sunlight, but if they are placed in direct sunlight for too long, the leaves will lose water and may get burned in hot weather. Therefore, it is recommended to place it in a bright room, such as by the window, on a desk, or in a semi-shaded and illuminated place outdoors. It can carry out photosynthesis without being injured. If it is kept indoors for a long time, or in the cold and dark winter, you can create an artificial light source, otherwise it will lack nutrients and cause it to wither or stop growing.

3. Temperature

There is no need to elaborate on the temperatures in spring and autumn. The temperature in summer is too high and stuffy, especially when the temperature is over 30 degrees in midsummer. You can water it artificially or move it to a cool and ventilated place to cool it down, or you can move it to a place with air conditioning. The temperature is low in winter, but it should be kept at least above 10 degrees. It can be placed in a greenhouse or moved indoors, otherwise it is easy to get frostbite.

4. Notes

Hydroponic plants all have this requirement, which is to change the water regularly to provide sufficient oxygen and avoid root rot.

Monstera will gradually grow bigger in the later stage. When choosing a hydroponic container, it is recommended to choose a stable and heavy one, which is not only beautiful but also not easily crushed.
