How to water Purple Pearl

How to water Purple Pearl

1. Watering principles

The easiest way to grow the noble purple pearl is to stick to the principle of not watering it unless it is dry, and watering it thoroughly when it is completely dry. Because when there is sufficient water, the roots of the purple pearl will grow very slowly, and sometimes even not grow at all. The roots of the purple pearl are divided into taproots and fibrous roots. The fibrous roots are used to absorb nutrients, but the taproot does not actually absorb nutrients. If the amount of water is controlled and provided, the taproot of the purple pearl grows well, and the fibrous roots can grow in large quantities. In this case, the nutrients of the purple pearl plant can be fully supplemented.

2. Watering method

Generally speaking, you can tell whether watering is needed by observing the leaves. 1. If the leaves in the bottom circle are soft and shriveled, while the leaves in the upper circles are hard, this indicates a lack of water and you can water it now. 2. If the leaves in the bottom circle have become soft and shriveled, and the leaves in the upper circles have also become soft, this is a sign of severe water shortage, and watering is definitely necessary.

This is the most intuitive method to judge watering. Of course, if you use this method and its leaves are still not full 12-24 hours after watering, then you should consider the problem of the root system, and you should also appropriately extend the time of the next watering so that it can grow better and more fibrous roots to ensure its own nutrient absorption.

Apart from summer, other seasons are the peak growth period for purple pearls. In the hot summer, purple pearls enter a dormant state. In fact, in a dormant state, purple pearls do not consume their own nutrients and do not need excessive nutrients. Watering can be reduced or even not required at this stage. Let me tell you an intuitive observation method to determine whether the purple pearl is in a dormant state. When the purple pearl is in a wrapped state (that is, the leaves gradually dry up from the outside, but at the same time the leaves inside are upright and very energetic), the purple pearl is in a dormant state at this time.

In short, don’t be too generous with watering the purple pearl, otherwise it may not see the sun next month.
