Can Phalaenopsis be repotted in summer?

Phalaenopsis cannot be repotted in summer. When repotting, the Phalaenopsis will enter a short dormant period due to damage to the root system. Summer is the time when Phalaenopsis develops tender shoots. The tender shoots will grow thin and weak due to malnutrition and other reasons, affecting the growth of the entire plant. Moreover, in hot weather, repotting can easily cause dehydration and lead to withering and death.

How to repot Phalaenopsis

First, prepare a new flowerpot and new soil for the Phalaenopsis. Stop watering 3 days before repotting. When repotting, use a small shovel to loosen the soil around the plant.

Then, we take out the plant, gently shake off the soil on the surface, put it in a flowerpot filled with new soil, fill the soil and compact it.

Phalaenopsis repotting precautions

1. In the cultivation of Phalaenopsis, some plants may not grow well, or the soil may become rotten and airtight, or the soil quality may deteriorate and can no longer provide it with sufficient nutrients and water. You can change the pot at any time without having to wait until spring.

2. The disinfectant used for Phalaenopsis needs to be diluted and prepared before use. Do not buy it directly. It is best to mix hydrogen peroxide with water. The ratio is 100 ml of hydrogen peroxide to 500 ml of water.
