1. Branches

There are certain requirements for its cuttings, and it cannot be done casually, especially the selection of branches requires a certain amount of thought. If we don't choose carefully, the success of the cutting process will be very difficult. So what kind of branches should we choose? The first requirement is that the branches must be semi-lignified, because if we choose branches that are too tender, they will rot. On the contrary, if we choose branches that are too old, it will be difficult to expect roots to grow. Generally speaking, the branches we use must have two nodes, and the treatment of the leaves also requires certain care. Unless there are special circumstances, we have to cut the leaves below, and it is best to leave two or three leaves on the top. These leaves do not have to be complete, and leaving half is best. Our suggestion is to treat the cut so that we can prevent it from getting infected.

2. Container

The container used does not need to be too large. It would be best if you have a special seedling box. If not, we can also use plastic cups or sundae cups. Of course, the cup also needs some processing. First, two holes need to be drilled at the bottom for the purpose of water permeability. The same operation needs to be performed on the top, but the purpose is slightly different, which is for ventilation.

3. Soil

As for the soil, it doesn’t want to have too good fertility, as that is not very good. It is a good idea to choose some river sand. If there is sphagnum moss or soil that has been used for Clivia for four seasons, that can also be chosen. In addition, we have another option, which is to use leaf mold and sand.

4. Transplantation

Its transplantation also takes a certain amount of time and has certain requirements for conditions. Generally, we need to transplant it after it grows roots, and it is best to have five or six new roots.
