How to identify Agave angustifolia

1. Leaves

The leaves of the narrow-leaved agave are arranged in a rosette shape. The leaves are fleshy and sword-shaped. The leaves are light green in color, sometimes with variegated colors. They are about 45 to 60 cm long and about 6 to 7.5 cm wide. The edges of the leaves have small thorn-like serrations. The top of the leaves has a sharp and hard thorn that is dark brown and about 1.2 to 1.5 cm long.

2. Flowers

The flowers of Agave angustifolia are in panicles, about 5 to 7 cm long and have few branches. The flowers are about 5 cm long, with a short perianth tube and 6 lobes. There are 6 stamens in total, attached to the throat of the perianth tube; the filaments are linear and grown laterally outside the perianth lobes.

3. Fruit Difference

The capsule is nearly spherical, has three lobes, has a stalk, and has a short beak at the top.
