How to grow black orchid vigorously

1. Shading

Many varieties of this flower are afraid of direct sunlight, so they need appropriate shading. In early to mid-April, you can expose the plants to more sunlight, but in late April you need to start shading them. After October, when the weather turns cooler, you can just shade it around noon.

2. Environment

A suitable place can also help it grow stronger. It can be placed outside in all seasons except the severe winter, in which case it should be placed indoors. If it is outdoors, place it in an open and moist area. If it is placed indoors, it is best to face south. There must be enough light to facilitate its growth. It is best to place it on a table and not directly on the ground.

3. Watering

If there is too much water, it will easily cause the roots to rot. During the growth period, you need to add more water. During the new sprout stage and flowering stage, you should water less. During the period of suspended growth, you need to water less or not add water. If the pot for planting it is relatively large but the flower is relatively small, you can water it less often. If it is the rainy season, you should not water it or add less water. There will often be showers during the hot season, so you need to help it drain the water, otherwise it will be damaged. If the sun comes out immediately after the rain, you need to provide it with shade, otherwise the sublimation of heat will affect it.

4. Fertilization

Whether it needs fertilizer depends on its growth conditions. If your Mo Lan is growing healthily and vigorously, you can fertilize it with confidence. If it grows thin and poorly, add less fertilizer or no fertilizer. In June and July, you can add liquid fertilizer once or twice, but it is best not to use chemical fertilizer. If it is a hot season, do not apply fertilizer until August or September. You can judge whether fertilizer is needed based on the color of the leaves. If the leaves are a little yellow and weak, you need to add fertilizer. If the tips of the leaves are burnt, it means too much fertilizer has been added and you need to stop adding fertilizer immediately.

5. Cutting

During the planting process, it needs to be pruned from time to time so that it can grow better. When the leaves become dry, they can be removed to help it ventilate. The dry tips of the leaves also need to be removed. If the leaves are diseased or pest-infected, they need to be cut off to prevent infection of other leaves. Then disinfect the scissors before trimming other leaves. If the Mo Lan is not growing well, or has branches with fewer leaves, or has weak roots, it needs to be topped.
