How to make gardenia bloom

How to make gardenia bloom

1. Flower soil

Friends in the south may be better off on this point, but friends in the north may have more headaches. Because most of the soil in the north is weakly alkaline, and this kind of flower has difficulty adapting to this kind of soil, so it generally will not overflow the pot. To this end, we can go to the flower shop to buy special flower soil for this kind of flower, or we can mix garden soil and leaf mold in a 1:1 ratio and make our own flower soil.

2. Acidity

In order to make it bloom, we need to keep the soil in which it grows slightly acidic for a long time. For this reason, we can usually use vinegar to water it. However, it should be noted that the vinegar used must not contain salt, and it needs to be diluted before watering, preferably more than a hundred times.

3. Hydration

If you want it to bloom out of the pot, it must not lack water, because it is a relatively water-loving flower. Normally we need to observe the condition of the flower soil. If it feels a little wet, you don’t need to replenish it first, but if it feels dry, you need to add water to it. It is best to replenish water between sunrise and 9 o'clock. If it is midsummer, you can replenish water once more in the evening. Please note that you cannot replenish water at noon.

4. Lighting

It prefers light, and can be allowed to bask in the sun when it blooms, but it still needs certain shade measures to be taken at noon. In winter, it is necessary to allow it to receive as much light as possible, otherwise it will be difficult for it to grow normally. In addition, in spring, it must also be allowed to enjoy enough light, which can allow it to bloom more and better flowers.

5. Flower fertilizer

If you want the plant to bloom, you naturally need the support of flower fertilizer. However, we cannot wait until it blooms before applying flower fertilizer to it. On the contrary, we need to increase the amount of flower fertilizer applied before it buds. This increases the amount of nutrients it can absorb and accumulate in the body, thereby supporting the needs of flowering. After the flowers bloom, we cannot use a lot of fertilizer, otherwise the flowers may wither prematurely.

6. Pruning

We need to prune and top the tree in time when it grows to reduce the amount of nutrients obtained by the top branches and leaves to promote the development of side buds. Once its side buds grow out, more flowers will naturally bloom!
