How to make azalea bloom more

How to make azalea bloom more

1. Soil

Soil is very important for the growth and development of plants, and we'd better make sure it has several conditions, such as being loose and breathable. Secondly, we should know that it prefers acidic soil, so we have to keep its PH between 4.5 and 6. Combining the above points, we recommend that you use black mountain mud, loess and humus soil to grow it.

The general cultivation time is spring and autumn, while potting or repotting is in March and April. It is best to layer the soil, with the soil at the bottom being coarser and the soil at the top being finer, and then compact it so that the roots are in good contact with the soil. Repot the plant about once a year, and when doing so, cut off the old roots. Then water it and place it in a cool place.

2. Watering

This is also a very necessary step, because it will definitely not bloom without watering. However, its roots are relatively weak. If we water it too much or not enough, it is very likely that the plant will be in an unfavorable state, so we must control the amount. If it lacks water when its leaves are unfolding, its leaves will turn yellow and may die, not to mention waiting until they bloom. If the flowers lack water after blooming, they will droop and will not be bright. In addition, they may wither and die.

Therefore, we still have to base it on the rainfall and dry and wet conditions. Generally, watering is done in the morning and evening. Watering is not allowed at noon in summer, because if the roots touch the cold water, the flowers are likely to be damaged. The general principle is not to water unless the soil is dry, and once you water, make sure to water thoroughly.

3. Fertilization

This is also a way to make it bloom more. When it is flowering and growing new shoots, we need to apply nitrogen fertilizer, and generally apply fertilizer once or twice at this time. After flowering, it can be applied five or six times, so that the cotyledons can grow. In summer, you still cannot apply too much fertilizer, and ensure that the concentration is low. Generally, fertilization should be combined with watering.

4. Lighting

Because it is afraid of strong light, we have to put it in a cool place, or build a pergola for it, but we cannot deny it light, otherwise there will be very few flowers.
