How to repot a fortune tree and what kind of soil is best for repotting

How to repot a fortune tree and what kind of soil is best for repotting

1. Repotting method

1. Time: Repotting the money tree should be done once every 1-2 years, but if its growth condition is not very good, it needs to be repotted every year. The best time to repot is in spring, because the climate is very suitable and it will recover quickly after repotting.

2. Preparation: Prepare a new flower pot. The diameter of the pot should be larger than the original one, so that the plant will have more growing space. Place a few broken tiles at the bottom of the pot and add soil.

3. Remove from the pot: Knock the pot carefully, and after the pot and soil are separated, hold the main stem of the plant to remove it from the pot. Shake off the soil around the roots. Also check for rotten roots. If there are any, trim them off. Also remove roots that are not growing well. After root pruning, it is generally necessary to disinfect and sterilize, otherwise it will easily become infected after being potted.

4. Potting: Place the plant in the middle of the pot and slowly fill it with soil, then press lightly until there are no gaps. Do not damage its roots when potting it. Finally, place it in a cool environment and increase ventilation.

2. What kind of soil is good to use

The money tree likes slightly fertile and loose soil. It likes acidic soil, so it cannot be planted in alkaline soil, nor should it use too sticky flower soil. You can mix garden soil, river sand and sawdust in a ratio of 3:1:1. If necessary, you can also add some base fertilizer to the soil.
