How to grow Kalanchoe to make it bloom

How to grow Kalanchoe to make it bloom

1. Soil

Because it likes loose and breathable soil, it can only grow vigorously in such an environment. Generally speaking, we need to provide it with leaf mold, garden soil and sandy soil. The combination of these three is very good. In addition, it is better to add some perlite or compound fertilizer into it.

2. Fertilizer

Giving it an appropriate amount of fertilizer is a way to make it grow rapidly. Generally speaking, we need to add liquid fertilizer to it once or twice a month. We should stop fertilizing in the summer, and increase the amount of fertilizer and water in autumn and winter.

3. Watering

Watering is necessary. Generally speaking, it is better to wait until the soil three to five centimeters deep is dry before watering. In summer, watering should be controlled because the plants will rot more easily. In addition, when the temperature is above 30 degrees, we just need to ensure good ventilation and spray water on the plants. In autumn, the amount of watering should be relatively large. Generally speaking, we should give it water that is close to room temperature.

4. Temperature

Temperature has a certain influence on its growth. Generally speaking, fifteen to thirty degrees is better. It is best to keep the temperature above ten degrees at night in winter.

5. Lighting

Light is essential. In summer, we need to give it four hours of direct sunlight, and after October, we need to give it more sunlight. If there is often no light, its growth will be greatly affected and the leaves will not bloom easily. Of course, when the light is too strong, we also need to give it some shade.

6. Pinching

Pinching is a very important method to make it full. Generally speaking, pinching can make it have more branches and the number of flowers will also increase greatly.

7. Pruning

1. After the flowers have finished blooming, we still need to cut off some of the flowers. This will not affect its nutrients and there will be more flowers next time.

2. If it is a newly grown leaf, we can try to pinch off the tip, so that there will be more branches and new flowers will be produced.

3. After all the flowers have bloomed, we need to remove the first pair of leaflets, and the second pair needs to be kept in order to encourage it to grow new branches.
