How to grow camellia well

How to grow camellia well

1. Temperature

If you want the camellia to grow better, the growth temperature must be controlled at 18-25℃. Too high or too low temperature will affect its growth. When the temperature is high in summer, you must pay attention to sun protection to avoid burning the branches and leaves due to excessive temperature. When the temperature is low in winter, you can move it indoors and let it receive appropriate light when there is sunshine during the day.

2. Watering

A humid environment can make camellia grow better. You can water it more in spring and summer, and water it less in winter. Generally, it is enough to water it once every 2-3 days. Always make sure the soil is not too dry or too wet.

3. Fertilization

Don't forget to fertilize it when raising it. You can apply appropriate phosphorus and potassium fertilizers during the growth period, which can make it grow better and bloom more luxuriantly, but be careful not to apply too much fertilizer.

4. Pruning

Pruning can help camellia grow better. It is best to prune when the flower buds are too dense. Generally, weak branches and diseased branches should be cut off. This can help it absorb nutrients better. After the flowers wither, they should be cleaned up in time to reduce nutrient consumption.

5. Repotting

Generally, the pot should be changed once after one year of cultivation. It is best to use a larger pot when changing the pot, which will be more conducive to root growth. The best time to change the pot is April. During the process, some old roots can be appropriately removed, and some base fertilizer can be added and watered appropriately.
