What soil to use for Monstera

What soil to use for Monstera

Let's first share two soil preparations suitable for growing Monstera:

1. Mix 1 part chicken manure, 1 part honeycomb coal ash, and 2 parts cooked loess evenly, and put it in a soil flower pot for use;

2. After mixing 1 part of sandy soil, 1 part of garden soil, and 1 part of leaf mold evenly, put some broken bones or hoof pieces at the bottom of the flowerpot as base fertilizer for the plants, and then put the prepared soil into the flowerpot.

This plant is originally a parasitic plant. Its roots are very developed and fleshy, so it is quite picky about soil conditions. Looseness and breathability are essential conditions. If you use clay soil, even slightly clay soil, it will more or less affect the development and growth of the roots.

This plant grows very fast, so its nutrient demand is also relatively high. When preparing the soil, you should also choose more fertile soil.

Some friends are not sure whether this plant prefers acidic soil or alkaline soil, so they directly plant it in neutral soil, and then they feel that the plant can grow well. But this is only temporary. If it grows in this soil for a long time, the leaves will slowly lose their luster and the color will become darker. Reducing the ornamental effect is a minor matter. The main problem is that if it lasts too long, it will seriously hinder the healthy growth of the plant.
