How to grow yew

How to grow yew

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: You can use fertile, loose, slightly acidic soil that retains water and fertilizer.

2. Watering: Water every 2-3 days in spring, water every morning and evening in summer depending on the situation, water every 3-4 days in autumn, and reduce the amount of watering in winter, watering about every 15-20 days; when the temperature is high in summer, you can spray water around the room to increase the humidity in the air. Check the moisture of the soil before watering. If the soil is moist, there is no need to water. If the soil is dry, water it appropriately.

3. Fertilization: Apply decomposed cake fertilizer water, apply base fertilizer in appropriate amount in September and October, apply compound fertilizer in early spring, and apply decomposed solid organic fertilizer at the bottom of the flowerpot when repotting every year.

4. Light: Yew trees cannot withstand strong sunlight exposure, so appropriate shading measures should be taken in places with strong sunlight.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Seed propagation: Store the seeds for a period of time before sowing. First place the sterilized seeds in the soil, then cover with wet sand, and then cover with about 8 cm thick soil. Avoid strong light during the seedling period and leave them in the bed for 2 years before transplanting.

2. Propagation by cuttings: Plant the selected cuttings into the cutting soil, cover them with film, avoid strong sunlight, spray water appropriately every day, and provide a growing environment of 20-30℃. It will grow roots in about a month, and the seedlings can be transplanted after they have grown roots.

3. Common pests and diseases

1. Common diseases: White rot, stem rot, etc. are the most serious. Spray fungicides in time after the onset of the disease. At the same time, lower the temperature of the soil to avoid burning the roots. Clean up the diseased leaves in time to avoid secondary infection.

2. Common pests: aphids, scale insects, etc., will endanger its normal growth. You can properly raise some natural enemies of aphids to effectively prevent the appearance of aphids. You can also use pesticides to spray and kill aphids.
