How to grow small-leaf banyan

How to grow small-leaf banyan

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: To grow small-leaf fig, you need to use fertile, well-drained soil, which can be mixed with coal slag.

2. Watering: It likes a humid growing environment, especially during the growing season. It is necessary to ensure that there is enough water, but the soil in the pot should not be too wet. Reduce the amount of watering in winter and rainy season. Drain the water in time during the rainy season to avoid root rot and leaf fall due to water accumulation.

3. Light: The small-leaf banyan likes sunlight and it can also tolerate partial shade. It is best to give it sufficient light. Insufficient light will cause the leaves to become larger or fall off.

4. Temperature: Provide it with a growing environment of 20-30℃. It is not cold-resistant, so the temperature should not be too low. In winter, the temperature should be kept at 5℃. You can grow it indoors.

2. Breeding Methods

Cutting propagation: Choose relatively healthy branches, insert them into the soil, water them thoroughly, and place them in a cool place. If it is done in early spring, you can cover them with film to prevent frostbite.

3. Common Pests

Common pests of small-leaf fig include aphids and red spiders. After the pests are discovered, they can be captured manually. If the pests are serious, they should be sprayed with pesticides. In addition, the soil should be disinfected and the diseased branches and leaves should be cleaned up to prevent secondary infection.
