How to grow potted hibiscus

How to grow potted hibiscus

1. Soil

It likes loose soil, so we can use a mixture of peat soil, leaf mold, river sand and other soils. In addition, we can also use sandy loam for it.

2. Lighting

It prefers sunlight, but too strong light is not suitable for it. We need to shade it in summer, or put it in a ventilated place in the room, so that the flowers and leaves will grow better and will not dry out.

3. Temperature

It prefers a warm environment, and around 20 degrees is the best temperature for it, so it must be kept warm in winter, but the temperature cannot be too high in summer, and care must be taken not to let it get sunburned.

4. Moisture

Because it likes a humid environment, we need to water it when the temperature is relatively high and the air is relatively dry, but the watering should be measured and not excessive, otherwise the roots will rot, so once water accumulates, the water must be drained out in time.

5. Fertilization

Fertilization is very important. Remember to apply fertilizer when it is growing vigorously and when it is blooming and forming buds. The most important ones are phosphorus and potassium. This will ensure that it has sufficient nutrition and the flowers will grow more vigorously. We should know that there are fewer nutrients in potted plants, so we should apply foliar fertilizer once every two weeks.

6. Insect prevention

During its growth period, there will be serious insect pests, so it is necessary to ventilate it and then prune it to prevent insect pests from harming its flowers. Only in this way can the plant grow fast and healthy.
