How to fertilize lucky bamboo

How to fertilize lucky bamboo

1. Fertilization method of hydroponics

1. When growing it hydroponically, fertilizer is very important, because it is easy to be malnourished when grown hydroponically, so you should fertilize it in time during the growth process, but in order to prevent it from growing too tall, it is best not to apply chemical fertilizers. Just add a little nutrient solution to the hydroponic container once every 3 weeks; of course, you can also go directly to the market to buy liquid leafy plant fertilizer, but remember, no matter what fertilizer it is, don't apply too much, otherwise it will burn it.

2. If you are not afraid of it growing too well, you can use less chemical fertilizers, because it is more resistant to fertilizers. Usually, you need to apply compound fertilizers to it once every 2 to 3 months. But because it is hydroponically grown, you only need to add some potassium dihydrogen phosphate when changing the water, so that it can have adequate nutrition.

3. After it takes root, you should immediately add some nutrient solution or nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer to it, so that the branches can grow strong, but don't add too much, otherwise it will burn the roots. Normally, it is enough to add it once a month.

2. Fertilization method of soil culture

When growing in soil, you need to add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer to the soil and change the soil every 2 to 3 years. Then during the growing season, apply an appropriate amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer to it, preferably once every 20 to 25 days, and keep the potting soil properly moist. In addition, to make the leaves greener, you can also apply a little foliar fertilizer.
